Course Management

Homework will be given out and due in about a week. The due dates will be modified if topics are not yet covered in the lectures. Norm Sleep will grade and correct homework. Feel feel to get help but understand what you do. The grade for late homework will be reduced. I will not want to grade a lot of late homework just before finals.

The grade will be 35% homework; 25% mid-term; and 40% final.

Course Materials

The book Principles of Geophysics can be ordered on the web from the publisher or usual book sellers. The course has been modified to include plate tectonics and planetology.
The lectures will not duplicate the book but cover key points and examples not covered in the book. Attendance is very strongly recommended.
